Nam-myoho-renge-kyo (or Namu Myōhō Renge Kyō) is the central mantra in Nichiren Buddhism, meaning “Devotion to the Mystic Law of the Lotus Sutra,” a practice to unlock one’s inherent Buddha nature, transform suffering, and achieve inner strength and happiness by connecting with the universal life force. Chanting it is a vow to overcome challenges and help others find their own potential, forming the core practice for millions worldwide, especially within Nichiren Buddhism.
